Muriel Wood
Muriel Wood is an experienced business leader who has devoted 30 years of her life assessing and commercializing innovative technologies, products, and services which have taken her to Russia, China, India, Europe, and throughout North America. She has held leadership roles in finance, operations, sales and marketing, and general management. Since 2012, Muriel has been the Managing Director for Bharco Ecotechnologies LLC, a company involved in renewable energy project development, and waste and wastewater technology management globally She is also a recent co-founder of Pacific Eco Innovations Inc., a company dedicated to commercialize a new patented award-winning ocean wave energy technology from France, for which it owns a License. Prior to joining Bharco, Muriel consulted to start-ups and established corporations looking to transition into clean technology-based processes and protocols. When AIDS began to be a global challenge, Muriel took on the role of executive Director of the World Immunological Network Project Foundation in Los Angeles, supported by Dr. Gallo and Nobel Laureate Professor Montagnier, the co-discoverers of HIV. The Foundation was dedicated to creating an international databank to facilitate the exchange of information on AIDS between international researchers and clinical practitioners.
Muriel was born in Paris, France. She started her business career as an engineer and a team leader with Thomson CSF, a French international electronics, defense, and communications company, before immigrating to Southern California.
Muriel has always valued the importance of communication and creating understanding and positive exchanges between foreign countries. She has been a Director of the Los Angeles St. Petersburg Sister City Committee since 2001. She holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from ESME-SUDRIA (Paris, France), and an MBA from INSEAD, (Fontainebleau, France). Muriel is fluent in English, French, and proficient in Russian.
